Passion in Jesus Christ...Compassion for All

WelcomeWe hope this page will help you connect with our ministries and grow in Jesus Christ. The Fresno District is comprised of 56 churches, primarily in California's big Central Valley- from Livingston UMC in the north, to the four churches in Bakersfield in the south. The District churches vary in size from 20 members in New Cuyama to 963 in Visalia. We are blessed by our churches' diversity as seen in the Japanese American congregation at Clovis UJCC, the largely Hispanic congregations of Selma, Bakersfield, Visalia, Lindsay and Porterville UMC, the Hmong worship services at Merced and Clovis Memorial, the Fresno Korean Fellowship, and the Filipino Congregation at Fresno Christian Fellowship. Some of our churches are as old as 150 years while others have opened in the last five years. While some church memberships have declined in recent years, others have grown, like Lemoore UMC and Sanger. All our churches are involved in UMC mission projects and creatively serve through everything from Scouts to recovery programs, food pantries to counseling centers, childcare to schools, artistic expression to celebration of cultural traditions.
The mission of the UMC is alive and well in the Fresno District.Come worship with us! |
